Coolest iPhone app I’ve ever heard of

I don’t own an iPhone and I’m currently quite comfortable with my Nokia 5800, but this application sounds so cool it makes me want an iPhone.

car finder application for iphone

The app uses the iPhone’s camera to overlay the direction of your car and how far away it is. The app relies on the camera and a digital compass, and is  compatible only with the iPhone 3GS  running 3.1 or later.

I pride myself with a fantastic sense of space and direction, save for the blissfully annoying parking lot of City Mall. I am ALWAYS getting lost there.

Is it just me, or is that parking lot designed to shock one’s directional senses dry?

Well yes its a cool application expect first you cant use it in city mall parking lot as this thing requires a sky above your iphone, for the gps to function, second the accuracy as mentioned in the photo can be something -+50m which is almost the size of city mall parking lot, third you will need to wait by the car like 3min till gps connects each time you want to save the location of your car. anyway gps applications have huge potential and such pioneer applications even not still practical are necessary for the advancements we will see in the coming years, cheers.

Dead on!! About City mall’s parking lot I mean, I always make sure to memorize the section I parked in (by color and number), and try to park near the enterance, preferrably where the pharmacy is, the easiest way… but it’s a good thing they lable it by colors andnumbers it helps

Husams, thanks for the insight man :) You’re very right now that I actually think about it. Looking forward to GPS advancement!

Mesh, -1 for bad GPS maps ;)

Ola, tell me about it. I try my best to remember where I parked by color and number as well, but it’s so hard with f1 and g5 or mish 3arfeh shu. It would be nicer if they have something like “Banana section” or I donno, something that sticks easier.

    Hello Roba !

The +1 were meant for the GPS connectivity issue Husams mentioned, my bad.

GPS Maps are no issue (you don’t actually need them to locate your car), i know there is no official map for Amman made by the government, hopefully those street signs i saw last summer will end up in a neat detailed map of Amman.

You complain about City Mall Parking ? Check out Avenues Mall in Kuwait ! (http://www.the-avenues.com/mall_directory/ground_floor/) 15 Mins Passed since i parked my car running to the cinema, a Mall that has at least 2x Starbucks cafes (those the ones i counted) truly needs a navigation system, if not an indoor transportations.

Roba you’re soooo right about City Mall’s parking lot, I always try to memorize the color and the number where I parked, never got really lost, but many people I know did! I liked the suggestion about “banana section” hehehe
