Masking Tape Abuse
This reminds me of Sharpie-abuse in Saudi Arabia:

Olympic logo police workers are tasked with vigilantly going around all facilities and putting masking tape over the logos for any product where the company is not an official sponsor.
Talk about taking it too far.

It’s interesting how this post shows how ‘kind of’ skills and technique development and the culture of the host country can reflect on the design and colors, it also shows that 1936-1948 , no Olympic were held because of WWII, it seemed after that, colors and signs are used to symbolize cultures, nations and/or an Ideology; For Example in 1980 and 1984, Olympics were held in USSR and USA in sequence , if you look at the design, both had included a political mark on it, both had put stars with different colors, a notation for their ideology..
It’s also remarkable that how rapid development in Computer Graphic software’s helps in polishing the designs as the big difference in 1992 Barcelona, Spain and 2000 in Sydney Australia. (Won’t recognize a big difference between 2000 and 2008).
as in 2008 design and as I have interest in the Chinese culture, once I saw the design if Beijing 2008, I was sure that there were some sort of mark as usual, actually I have asked my Chinese friend if the running player in the design has any meaning in Chinese language - Chinese words are drawings- , at first she said know, I asked her to have a good look again at it, and she said yes there is!
the running player in the Chinese Beijing 2008 this year has a synonym with the word ( 文 ) which means civilization , or cutler … adding the red color in the background , the answer is the RED NATION :P.
I like the colors of the 2012 London design, it reminds me with old 8-bit DOS GAMES!, I hope it’s political free!

What companies are affected by this policy ? Chinese ? Foreign ones ? both ?
