What’s that on the road?

A new program called “CarePhilly” is being rolled out in Philadelphia in an attempt to get drivers to follow speed limits.
The technique: high tech 3D decals that they believe will fake out drivers into thinking there is something in the intersection.
It must be either the most brilliant move ever or the dumbest. I mean, what happens when the drivers go over this fake speed bump the first time? And what about word of mouth?
What do you think? Smart or stupid?

I think its smart
even if you know that this hamper is fake
at high speed your brain wont be able to process everything so it will force you to slow down when you get approach to it
and It will work if they don’t put them everywhere where your brain get practice that these are fake and plz push more gas
They should put real ones between the fake ones…
but don’t say that you live next to the hamper (that’s different)

dumb, most drivers have driven several times beforehand on the same street and they would know these bumps are not real and they wouldn’t slow down.
The best solution for cars to slow donw: cameras in the streets, wow these bring a lot of money to any town

If they didn’t do this, they won’t be able to do the next smart idea based on rethinking this, and so life won’t get any better. I thus conclude it is smart ;)

stupid. Personally speaking, I would slow down the first time and remember to keep my speed for the next times.

I think it’s not only dump, it’s also very dangerous. Imagine you’re driving with high speed and suddenly you’ve come to see this on front of you, what you would do is to maneuver around it,with the high speed, this can result in you colliding with the car next to you.
