The gps generated selt portrait - click to enlarge

The interesting line-y illustration you see in the image above is a part of a concept project designed by a student, where a GPS device was shipped in a certain sequence following the artists directions around the world. The result: the line-y self-portrait.

Pretty cool.

There’s a video of the “implementation of the concept” at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irDEzQovftM. “Implementation” is in quotes because it turns out it is fiction, as he documents at his website, http://biggestdrawingintheworld.com/drawing.aspx. I have heard that he tried to pass it off as true until he was called on it, but that could be just people being nasty.
