Weekending

I can’t believe how gorgeous this weekend was. The weather was brilliant, a very pleasant surprise after the cold stretch of winter. My dad came for the weekend and so we had a nice, big barbecue party on Friday complete with knafeh and everything.

Today was great too, my dad brought fresh mlookheyeh with him from Riyadh, and so we had a mlookheleyeh feast for lunch. I only started eating mlookheyeh a couple of years ago, but I guess anything out of season is very enjoyable.

My little problem in life at the moment is my camera is at the Canon shop being fixed. It is really hard for me to function without my camera. I’m going to echo Dave here though and wonder why cops are being so annoying when it comes to taking photographs. It is so sad that the freedom of movement/speech/expression etc. in Jordan is decreasing every day. You always need some sort of paper, license, or mish3arfeh shu to take pictures or to walk or to park or to whatever. It sucks.

Anyway, back to the great weekend, which happened to be Ikbis’ party, which I unfortunately missed (and damn, I totally stress on the unfortunately after I saw how delicious the cake looks!)

Picture courtsey of Khobbeizeh.

I want to eat one of those flowers!

Happy birthday Ikbis :)

Let’s hope next weekend is as nice, sunny, and warm as this one.
I lurve the summer.

    Roba,

Could you explain? Surely you don’t need a permit to take photographs?! I’m assuming you’re exaggerating, right?

Jeffery, actually, you don’t need a license, but the cops are acting like its a matter of social security. and you know how that is… you can attribute anything to social security.
