Food I love
I, in no way, enjoy making lists. In fact, if I am to make a to-do list, I am very likely to be less likely to accomplish the tasks on it. Similarly, if I am to make a list of things rated according to preference or lack-there-of, the chances of me adding and removing things from this list are extremely high.
Perhaps that just says that I do not like to work with structures, I prefer to work according to my own whims and fancies. Or perhaps it says that I am a messy person, which I am, although I rarely do not get the work done. Or perhaps it means nothing at all.
On the other hand, I enjoy a stable topic in a current of words. I find repetition, confinement, and forceful thinking absurd, and I like to exercise my amusement by equipping such things. Think of it as a daily newspaper, where you have to have that usually boring and utterly meaningless cartoon column every day just so that you manage to catch the good ones every now and then.
So behold… list#1. Food I love, in no particular order.
- Mansaf
- Smoked salmon
- Shushbarak
- Sushi
- Kharoof ma7shi
- French fries
- Cheese pies
- Kubbeh nayeh

i had to force my self to stop talking about food ..

Fooood! My favorite topic!
Hmmmm, there’s hardly anything I hate, other than stuff with too much rice, like Ma2loobeh. Extreme junk (like burgers) and stuff I don’t eat like pork

It’s really hard to keep it down to 8, but I’ll just list the first 8 that come to mind.
- Mtafayeh (kinda like mansaf, but with crispy fried cauliflower instead of shrak bread)
- Beef Strogonof
- Smoked Salmon (on french bread with lemon, capers, red onions, and cream cheese)
- Pad Thai noodles (we finaly have a place in Amman that knows how to make them properly, noodlehouse)
- Deep Fried Breaded Mushrooms in Spicy Cajun Mayonnaise Dip
- Lemon Veal Scalopini with Spaghetti Carbonara on the side (hard to get since the sauce is made from bacon)
- Hot Apple Pie with Peach Ice Cream
- Black Forest Cake (best one I’ve had in Amman so far was at Chez Hilda’s)

I’m just back from dinner – and I’m getting hungry again :P
To give a little counterweight to all this Arab food…
1) Knöpfle with ragout of veal
2) Potato Klöße with sauerbraten
3) Amarena ice
4) Choclate
5) Satay with peanut sauce
6) Naan bread
7) Galette
8) Franconian Bratwurst
It’s hard not to write down dozens of foods. Really hard.
… to give a little example.
