On the Heat
I am seriously confused on whether I should hate the heat or love it. On one hand, it’s the first week of the year where I can actually sit outside at night without freezing my behind off. I mean, it is AUGUST for God’s sake, about time I stop wearing a jacket. The heat also reminds me of Riyadh, and since I do not miss Riyadh at all, it is nice to have that sort of Riyadh feeling while I am in the middle of Amman. People also seem to be staying at home, so the streets are less crowded, and that’s awesome.
Otherwise, IT’S REALLY HOT.
Decisions, decisions.

i came to Jeddah a couple of weeks ago, and here you just can’t sit outside and enjoy the sea or whatever because of the horrible combination between heat and humidity, today it’s 28-40 degrees. and humidity is 50%. so 50 percent of the air mass is water vapor .. ya3ne you sit outside without any physical movement and you sweat! and when you move from an air conditioned building to the outside the vision through your regular glasses become unclear immediately! i tried to go to a coffeeshop on the seaside .. they use huge fans to stir the humid spoiled air. so you regret that you went outside and you decide to go back home to stay under the ac until tomorrow! in Amman people at least can walk at night without sweating, because sweating makes water evaporate and removes the heat away from the body, but with increasing humidity the evaporation rate is reduced so the heat is stored in the body for longer time. thanks God i’m going back to Amman in a few weeks!
