Ahlan ya seif

Although the heat came early this year, summer is just beginning to start.

The streets are finally getting crowded with a gazillion cars, and the count of non-Jordanian license plates is rising by the day (most Jordanians cuss under their breath when they see a non-Jordanian car but I love it, it reminds me of when we came every summer to Amman in a Saudi car). You can finally hear kids screaming outside till late at night (most Jordanians hate it, but I remember when we were kids and when we would play till late at night outside because it’s really too hot to stay inside anyway). There’s finally no space to walk at the mall (most Jordanians hate it, but I love it, it’s so fascinating looking at such a diversity of people). And everyone is finally really, really busy (most Jordanians hate it, but they do complain when they’re doing nothing too, so screw that either way). Even my grandmother is staying up late because the evening prayer is at 9:30 (I am not sure whether she hates it or not).

There’s so much life in the summer and I love it :) It’s so refreshing, especially as the weather is so fantastic this week, and my dad is coming tomorrow and that’s awesome too.

And let’s not forget all the icecream and all the moose.

Share the love :)

II will tell how the weather in London. It is raining most of time and cloudy. I can not remember when it was sunny last time. I still use heater in my flat during the night.
My big sister told me they might have a tent on the roof of her house to escape heat.

You have forgotten something about summer. It is wedding season in Jordan. Most of Jordanian families wait for summer to celebrate their son and daughter marriages
In my village we celebrate marriage for three nights and people start dancing and singing and having sweets .In the last day, there is a big feast cooked for a 500 person .of course, The feast is MANSEF. .
