Out of this World Ammanite Wedding Trends
Eccentric, and I still really can’t get past trying to figure out why in the world would anyone want a Greco-Roman sword fight at their wedding. Historical influences that the Greco-Roman culture has left in Jordan? Too much of that 800 movie? Al-Resalah style Arab love of sword fights? Mind-boggling indeed.
Personally, I guess I side with the regular (and I suppose boring, I mean, what, no sword fight?!) zaffeh.

This is, my friend, what is called “nouveau riche”…Like seriously, WTF? Imagine how embarassed they’ll be when they watch their wedding video 10 years from now…

This is what I see:
- people trying TOO hard to be ‘different’ and ‘unique’
- people with TOO much time on their hands
- people with TOO much money and don’t know what to do with it
It’s so lame, so out of place, a Greco-Roman sword fight?! If you really want to have a ‘performance’ and add some ‘drama’ to your wedding, do something relevant to the theme, it’s a wedding for god’s sake! Wouldn’t it be better if the groom was fighting with all those guys, and his prize for winning would be the bride? If he lost, the wedding would be called off, lol.

In Syrian “3aradah” (some kind of cultural wedding ceremony) they use sword fight but no one dies and it suppose to be entertaining. But in this thing the Romans are killing each others. Why anyone wants to see death on his or her wedding day?! Trying to be different is not cool sometimes.

That’s funny.
I can already see how this happened. You see, in every family there’s always the genius that comes up with these wacked up ideas that a lot of others might not be very comfortable with and end up shooting down. But in those certain cases when just the right guy with enough say happens to be that maniac, you end up with something like this :D

I find this cool!
Why not make a nice different show if you can do so? In your wedding, your aim is to entertain the people who come to celebrate you. I love the idea.

il zaffeh is too much bi nazari, a wedding is too much as well.. why not a simple reception and a dinner with friends.. i envy christians for one thing and one thing only, they can have the ceremony in churhch and then off to a reception!
why does everything have to be bigger, better, and the rest of the -er series to arabs in general… simplicity does it.

There’s something in my head called the equilibrium of stupidity..so since we’ve had a greco-roman wedding in what seems to be the dead sea..I’m pretty sure there was a zaffeh baladieh..complete with shooting in the air and the music of rib7i raba7..somewhere in Verona!

Plenty of money with no taste?
Or
Maybe the guy was a member of this band (though how could he afford all this?) and this is where her highness met him first, maybe the Roman show they do in Jerash was when they first met, maybe they are both into Roman movies and stuff.I dunno but I’ll go with my first guess.
Bas, el mohem….el 3aroos, helweh?
I thought in Zaffeh the Bride and the Groom enter the hall together, no? Because at first, I thought, damn the groom looks too old for the broad, which may have explained the Roman show (stubborn old dude).
‘Tis the wedding season, rejoice!

first of all hahahahahahahahahahaha those guys r hilarious this is the most intresting zafeh i ever watched see I think the purpose of zafeh or 3aradeh is to announce the wedding plus to show rjoolet el 3arees in away (meaning most of the songs r to glory the groom for his manhood and bravery and his coming to take the bride bla bla bla) and this example is called big I mean big time anouncement hahhaha….
see yes it seems they are ver filthy rich class that dont want to be with same level of “El Nawar” A.K.A “7afartal” so they decided to come up with a class zafeh….
its okay if u r too much classy fine do the western style (they dont have zafeh) but the most stupid thing is to come up with an orignally eastern oriented idea like el zafeh and try to impose another culture on an oriental or most arabic culture habit thing its like mixing falfel and shawerma and burger ,mayonaize o sal6et laban ,ma3 shwayet jameed o shorbet 3adas in one sandwish what u get is ‘7abeeeeeeeeeeesah (in my terminology) well to come to think about it isnt that whats happening in almost everything in our life……the answer is yes!!!
okay I want a matrix reloaded zafeh guys kill 7amatee please!!! but be warned she is like the american heros in films !!!(never dies)
a3eza2ee el ma3azeem please wear ur safety helmets the zafeh is about to begin:)

I can’t believe I am saying this, but does anyone else think that giving half, a quarter, a tenth, of that money to the poor and needy would have brought more happiness to that wedding than this?
I am beginning to sound like a Brother.

I think this is very ludicrous. Why is it that people get sillier and full of vanity as they get richer? I think this is called the nouveu riche syndrome

that is one of the most tasteless things I’ve ever seen, words fail to describe how retarded that was. What makes me weep for humanity is the fact that in order for this to happen a large number of people had to agree to it. It wasn’t just some crazy idiot who came up with it, a group of people came together sat down and agreed to do this.
Jordanian weddings generally are on the tasteless side but this is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all, I the grooms cousin! and I the one who shotted the clip!
and am really so impressed with your replies here!!!!
I dont know why everybody is assuming different things or if I may say stupid things!!!!
first of all we r not rich :)
and 2nd we got it free!!!! (a lot will get shocked here I guess)
its just that we r a family thats have a lot of connections!!!!
and let me explain the idea behind that scene!
its simply shows that life born out of death! and a new life start “hopefully better life”
maybe its stupid but really its unique and cool,
and am sure everybody here may want something new or different for his wedding!
Salam…
