This blog’s stupidity level
It scored a 7.5, and here’s the index to judge:
| Fog Index | Resources |
|---|---|
| 6 | TV guides, Mark Twain |
| 8 | Reader’s Digest |
| 8 – 10 | Most popular novels |
| 10 | Time, Newsweek |
| 11 | Wall Street Journal |
| 14 | The Times, The Guardian |
| 15 – 20 | Academic papers |
| Over 20 | Only government sites can get away with this, because you can’t ignore them. |
| Over 30 | The government is covering something up |
7.5? That is emphatically an indentation higher than TV Guides and emphatically lower than most popular novels. I should critically deliberate using more vanguard terminology.
How stupid is your blog?
(and oh, please do share!)

that readability test doesn’t work for 3arabiz,
we want a 3arabizi-compatible readability test

i got 8.79. Just enough to make it to popular novels. And yet you write better than me, with more “vaneguard terminology” if you will. Weird, huh?
BTW, why are there new posts on your old blog?

8.68 I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not. Can’t something be intelligent yet easily readable at the same time?

3ala fikra.. Hal.. the lower your score is, the more happy you should be. Like for example, Harry Potter’s rating falls around 5. The lower the score, the easier it is to read, and consequently the broader audience you reach.
What you should be looking at is actually the Flesch Reading Ease, it’s more important than the fog index :)

Hahaha, I like this game. I got an 8.82 and my percentage of words with three or more syllables is 14.03 percent.
But I don’t think this judges how stupid your blog is Roba, I think it tries to give a score on how easy is it to read, which means that an average score of 7-10 is much better than scoring above 10, because you would want to get your message across to everybody, rather than just permitting few people to actually understand what you’re saying.
Plus it basically measures vocabulary, professional writing is about keeping it concise and simple, no? (or at least I think that’s what it’s about). Otherwise, writers would have resorted to learning from 19th Century novels to enhance their writing skills…

Amino,
I disagree with your criteria for “how happy you should be”
It depends on your target audience.
Not all blogs are trying to reach the same readers , just like the Times and Guardian P.S. That statement has nothing to do with whether a Gunnig Fog Index of 12.43 and a Flasch Reading Index of 60.21 mean anything or not!

Roba,
Please edit the “erroneous” comment to include….
….just like the Times and Guardian are not targeting TV guide and romance novels readers.
P.S. That statement……..

Is my blog seriously the stupidest one out of all?! Man… Like I said, I should start making better use of all those years spent cramming ultra hard SAT vocabulary.
